A Caldwell County man was killed in a head-on collision near Marion yesterday, while two others were flown to Evansville hospitals.
Kentucky State Police says the incident happened just before 3pm on US Highway 641 just south of Marion. The preliminary investigation determined 23-year old Thomas Sanders of Marion was northbound in a pickup when he crossed the center line as he rounded a curve.
Sanders struck a sedan driven by 76-year old Kenneth Guess of Fredonia head-on in the southbound lane. The Crittenden County coroner pronounced Guess dead on the scene while his wife—75-year old Hazel Guess of Fredonia—was flown by helicopter to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. Both Mr. and Mrs. Guess were wearing their seatbelts.
Sanders was not wearing his seat belt and was flown to St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville. Trooper Darron Holliman continues the investigation into the incident.
