One of Caldwell County’s largest employers has been sold in a multi-billion dollar transaction.

The Princeton Times-Leader reports the parent company of Bremner Food Group, Ralcorp Holdings, was sold Tuesday to ConAgra Foods for approximately five billion dollars.

The purchase made ConAgra the nation’s largest manufacturer of private label or store brand foods. Officials didn’t offer any insight on the future of the facilities involved in the transaction or the 36-thousand employees at the facilities.

Bremner has been located on U.S. 62 West in Princeton since 1993 and employs about 600 people.
