Kentucky State Police continue to investigate a wreck that claimed the life of a Cadiz man Monday evening, while a survivor continues to recover at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The crash claimed the life of 47-year old Scotty Gray of Cadiz, who passed away from his injuries Tuesday evening at Vanderbilt. Officials at the hospital say 20-year old Nicholas Wiseman of Cadiz remains in stable condition. Wiseman was stabilized at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in the hours following the wreck, before being taken to Nashville by ambulance. Wiseman was standing outside of his vehicle around 8pm after hitting a deer just inside the east side city limits of Cadiz on 68-80. Gray had stopped to assist Wiseman when an eastbound tractor-trailer driven by 50-year old Mohammed Mohamud of Missouri ran into the back of his pickup, knocking it into the disabled vehicle and into Wiseman. KSP Post 1 Public Information Officer Trooper Jay Thomas says the investigation continues by Trooper Thomas Clifton, though he says it’s unlikely any charges will be filed against the trucker. ** 11/28/2012/am |
