CCPS to host seminar about dangers of drug use

Prescription and over-the-counter drugs are among the most commonly abused drugs by high school students, after alcohol, marijuana, and tobacco according to a national survey conducted last year.

Officials with the Christian County Public School District are taking a stand against prescription drug abuse and is hosting a Parent University Session Thursday night to discuss that very topic.

School District Spokesperson, Heather Aubin gives more details about the upcoming session.

Ms. Aubin says the informative seminar will also include two guest speakers, who will talk about the dangers of drug use.

School district officials are hoping area parents and youths will attend Thursday night’s Parent University Session, since it is the last one for the semester.

Refreshments will be provided and attendees will have the chance to win several door prizes.
