Clarksville Police searching for robbery suspect

Clarksville Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a suspected robber.

Police are searching for 46-year old Howard James Graves Jr. of 120 East Street, Clarksville, who is wanted for aggravated robbery.

Police say on Tuesday, November 20th around 3:30 a.m. a 31-year old man was dropping off a friend at Ernest Shelton Drive after taking her to get something to eat.

The man told police he parked his truck on the side of the road and got out when a man, later identified as Graves, yelled for him to come to his vehicle.

Police say the victim approached Graves got out of the vehicle took off his coat, displayed a handgun, struck the man in the head with the handgun, at which time the victim lost consciousness.

The victim told police when he woke up a short time later, he realized $580 was removed from his front pant pocket.

A witness to the robbery obtained a tag number from the vehicle Graves was traveling in and the victim was able to identify Graves in a photographic lineup as the man who robbed him at gunpoint.

Police are urging anyone who sees Graves to contact 911 immediately or call anonymously to 931-645-8477.
