A local woman was arrested last week for allegedly forcing her children to live in filth.
The Christian County Sheriff’s Office was called to 70 Peach Street by social workers, who believed two young children were living in dangerous conditions. The police report says the three-bedroom trailer was covered in garbage and rotting food.
The walls and ceiling were reportedly covered in food splatter, feces and urine. Police say knives were imbedded in rotting food in the children’s rooms with the sharp side up.
The report says there was no food in the trailer that wasn’t rotting and that maggots were everywhere. Arrested and charged with first degree wanton endangerment was 29-year old Cynthia Cole of Peach Street. She was also served with a warrant for failure to appear in court on traffic violations.
Cole remains in the Christian County Jail on six thousand dollars. The children were removed from the home.
