Clarksville Police confiscate drugs and $30,000 cash

BLAKELY

A Chattanooga man was booked into the Montgomery County Jail after a routine traffic stop uncovered thousands of dollars in cash and drugs in a vehicle on Thanksgiving morning.

21-year old Logan Blakely of White Oak Road was charged with DUI, simple possession and unlawful drug paraphernalia.

Police say around 3 a.m. an officer spotted a Saturn Ion at the intersection of Madison Street and Richview Road which was stopped at a green light and not moving.

When the officer checked on the driver side of the vehicle, Blakely was allegedly passed out.

Once Blakeley was awake, the officer reported he could smell alcohol and that Blakely was slow to react to instructions, and was unsteady on his feet and failed field sobriety tests.

The officer also found an orange case containing a metal pipe, marijuana, rolling papers, and a vacuum sealed freezer bag.

During an interview with Blakeley, police determined that the money had been proceeds from drug sales and he was just in town for a visit.
