The teen allegedly shot by his own brother on Vista Street in Clarksville yesterday morning has died from his injuries and the suspect has been charged with homicide.

A news release from Clarksville Police says the 15-year old male shot at 1594 Vista died yesterday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Public Information Officer Jim Knoll gave the timeline of events in the hours following the shooting before the victim had passed away.

Initial investigation determined several people had been in the home when the victim’s brother, 23-year old Brian Smith of the residence, allegedly pointed a gun at the teen’s head and pulled the trigger. Police say Smith later admitted to shooting his brother and telling someone else to hide the gun.

Smith had initially told police another story that he had been walking down the street when he heard gunshots and then saw two males running. The news release says police quickly determined that information to be false and misleading.

Smith was served with an arrest warrant on criminal homicide charges and remains in the Montgomery County Jail without bond.
