Sen. Pendleton won't request recount in election--Westerfield wins

Republican Whitney Westerfield will be the state senator for Christian, Todd and Logan County when the General Assembly convenes in January after Senator Joey Pendleton confirmed this morning that he won’t request a recount.

Senator Pendleton says the lack of change in numbers from the recanvas made the decision easy for him.

Senator Pendleton thanked his supporters for the last two decades in the upper chamber and said he looks forward to the days ahead.

The margin of victory for Westerfield remained at 297 votes after the tallies in all three counties were confirmed by the recanvas.
