In other business, the school board unanimously passed the first reading to eliminate school of choice for the 2013-14 school year as stated by Chairman Cornelius. School board members decided to keep the Highland Elementary School building after learning it would take about $ 3 million dollars to demolish it. Board members also approved to draw up specifics and then send out bids for the purchase of two 8-passenger vans for a total cost of $60,000.
