Governor Steve Beshear’s reconstituted Kentucky Workforce Investment Board and overhaul of the state’s workforce investment system received high praise from officials with the United States Department of Labor.

Governor Beshear stated it is great to be recognized by the federal government for the work state officials are doing and it confirms that Kentucky is heading in the right direction to economic recovery.

In the two years since Kentucky developed a new strategic state plan to overhaul its workforce development system, Kentucky has responded to requests from 16 states wanting more information about the initiative.

KWIB Chair, Ed Holmes says the ultimate compliment is when other states want to know how Kentucky is transforming the workforce development system and how it can be implemented in other states.
