KSP release preliminary fatal report

Preliminary statistics released by Kentucky State Police indicate that 17 people died in 16 separate wrecks on Kentucky’s roadways from Monday, November 5th through Sunday.

State Police reported single fatality crashes occurred in each of the following counties: Boyd, Carroll, Clark, Daviess, Floyd, Garrard, Jefferson, Johnson, Madison, Marshall, Nelson and Perry with four of the victims not wearing seat belts and five of the crashes involving the suspected use of alcohol.

State Police say a fatal motorcycle crash occurred in Trigg County with the victim not wearing a helmet and alcohol was involved.

State Police reported no fatalities in Christian and Todd Counties.

Through Sunday, preliminary statistics show that 628 people have lost their lives on Kentucky roadways during 2012, which two fewer than what was reported for the same time period last year.
