The Postal Service has announced the reduced hour schedules that will go into effect for four local offices in the coming months.
U.S.P.S. spokesman David Walton says Pembroke will transition to a 9am to 3:30pm schedule with a built in lunch from 12 until 12:30. Saturday hours will be 8 until 10:45.
Herndon’s Post Office will be open weekdays from 9 until 1 and on Saturday from 9 until 11. Trenton will go to a four-hour schedule on weekdays—open from 9:30 until 4 with a closure for lunch from 1 until 1:30. Saturday hours will be 10:30 to 12:30.
Fairview’s post office will only be open two hours—11 until 1pm—Monday through Saturday.
The verdict is still out on whether more post offices in the area will see a reduction in hours.
