Most Veterans Day ceremonies in the area were held over the weekend, but a good crowd showed up at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West this morning to brave the cold, wet and windy conditions for one final commemoration.

The keynote speaker was Fort Campbell American Legion Commander Joe Flynn, who said veterans sacrificed a lot of precious time with loved ones to serve their country.

Flynn pointed out that not only did the veteran sacrifice—families of veterans have had to spend restless years with extra responsibility while their parent or spouse was away defending freedom.

The Fort Campbell High School JROTC posted colors for the ceremony and Fort Campbell High senior Jessica Rodriguez sang the National Anthem.
