Mayor Kemp says Municipal Center work going well

Hopkinsville Mayor Dan Kemp says the downtown municipal building project is moving along nicely and remains on schedule.

Mayor Kemp appeared on the Lite 98.7 Early Bird Show recently and said the old Planters Bank building has been torn down to allow the new city hall to be built.

The Mayor says one of the most important parts of the project is that it will allow the Lackey Building to become the new home of Hopkinsville Police.

Mayor Kemp also hopes the work will help re-vitalize downtown Hopkinsville by bringing more people to the area.

The new municipal building will open in the spring of 2014, if all goes as planned.
