Free gasonline for military program shut down in Oak Grove after traffic problems

What was supposed to be a gesture of appreciation to the men and women of the military turned into trouble this morning when traffic congestion stopped traffic on major roadways.

“Tank Full of Love” was providing free gasoline to active duty military at the Oak Grove Pilots and the Flying J beginning at 8 this morning, but traffic had backed up onto I-24 and down For Campbell Boulevard into the parking lot of businesses by 8:30.

Kentucky 115 was at a standstill as well and Oak Grove Police stopped the program by 8:45. Kentucky State Police were assisting Oak Grove Police in trying to manage the traffic to allow the program to continue, but it couldn’t be done to sufficiently keep roadways safe for motorists.
