Rotary Club of Elkton seeking funds for dual credit program

The Rotary Club of Elkton is asking for the community’s support in funding a relatively new program designed to assist students who want to earn college credit while still in high school.

The “Dual Advantage” program gives scholarships to students at Todd County Central who want to earn college and high school credits at the same time through dual admission. Public Relations Chair Glenn Slack says over 20-thousand dollars was raised last year, and 17-thousand has been raised so far this year—though that’s far short of the 50-thousand dollar goal.

Slack says the program is certainly a worthy use of money.

Slack says requests for the scholarships have increased and that’s a trend he expects to continue.

Anyone willing to give toward the program can mail their check to the Elkton Rotary Club Foundation, P.O. Box 60, Elkton, Ky. 42220.
