Woman robbed at Clarksville car wash

Clarksville Police are investigating after a woman was robbed at a car wash Monday.

A news release says the incident happened around 4:40 at National Car Wash on Madison Street, when a 57-year old woman had just finished washing her car.

The victim said a man wearing a red bandana over his face approached her and demanded money. He reportedly made an indication as though he had a handgun, but never displayed it to the woman.

The woman attempted to flee on foot, but the suspect chased her and continued to demand money. Once she complied, he fled on foot toward a wooded area near the carwash.

Police used a K9 unit to comb the area, but were unable to find the suspect. Further investigation determined a gold Nissan Maxima had been in the bay next to the victim before the incident, but was never washed. Police believe the suspect waited until the car wash was mostly vacant before attempting the robbery.

The suspect is described as a black male, medium height and build, with shoulder length dreadlocks and was wearing a blue hoodie and jeans. Anyone with information on the incident should call Clarksville Police at 931-645-8477.
