| Cadiz woman arrested on precription forgery charges |
|
A Cadiz woman was arrested last week for allegedly forging prescriptions. A news release from the Cadiz Police Department says Officer Scott Brown received information from the Eddyville Police Department that they were investigating 26-year old Candace Mahone of Will Jackson Road, Cadiz for allegedly passing a forged prescription in Lyon County on October 4th. The prescriptions looked to be from a Hopkinsville doctor who told police he had never treated Ms. Mahone at his office. He also didn’t know how she got his prescription blanks. Further investigation determined Ms. Mahone had allegedly committed similar crimes by passing forged prescriptions at Hospital Street Pharmacy and Save-On-Drugs in Cadiz to obtain Adderall—though she was refused at Hospital Street when a clerk noticed something unusual about the prescription. Police also learned she was wanted in Florida for felony fraud and in Virginia for credit card larceny, fraud and forgery. She was booked into the Christian County jail and released on bond the same day. ** 10/22/2012/am |
