|
A Kentucky State Trooper was forced to shoot a man in Graves County yesterday afternoon. A news release says KSP received a 911 call around 4:15 from a residence on Beech Grove Road in Farmington. The caller said there was a fight in progress involving guns and that shots had been fired. As troopers and Graves County Sheriff’s Deputies were in route, KSP received another call that additional shots had been fired. When a state trooper arrived, police say 49-year old Ted Newsome of Farmington approached him with a handgun and raised it toward him. The trooper fired his patrol rifle in defense, fatally striking Newsome. No officers were injured in the incident and the investigation continues. ** 10/21/2012/am |
