More details are now known about the wreck at a local convenience store Friday afternoon when a vehicle crashed through the front window.

The incident happened around 4:45 at the MaxFuel Express at West 7^th and North Drive, with the Hopkinsville Police report listing 39-year old Amy Koontz of Hopkinsville as the driver.

Ms. Koontz told officers that she recently had surgery on her leg and that pins and plates are holding it together. She said when she attempted to stop at the gas station, her leg wasn’t strong enough to press down the brake and her 1998 Ford Expedition crashed all the way through the window and into the building.

No one was injured in the incident, though there were customers and employees inside.

Ms. Koontz was cited for failure to provide proof of insurance and failure to present a valid drivers license.
