Update on drive-by shooting victim

The young girl wounded in a drive-by shooting on Durrett Avenue last night remains in a Nashville hospital.

Hopkinsville Police Public Information Officer Paul Ray says the 8-year old girl is in stable condition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, receiving treatment for a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Officers responded to 1413 Durrett just after 7 when someone in a vehicle fired shots into the residence occupied by the child and two adult females.

One of the adults, 59-year old Louvenia Wilford of Hopkinsville, sustained minor injuries and was treated and released from Jennie Stuart Medical Center. The other adult was not hurt.

Chief Guy Howie said police got conflicting witness reports regarding the type of vehicle involved in the incident and no arrests have been made.
