Demolition continues on the old Planters Bank building where a new Hopkinsville City Hall will one day stand.

Mayor Dan Kemp recently appeared on the Early Bird Show and said crews are going as fast as they can and that another building will be torn down to create parking for city employees.

Mayor Kemp says the city will also work as hard and quickly as possible to make the Lackey Municipal building ready for the Police Department to move in once the downtown city hall is constructed.

A ceremonial groundbreaking was held earlier this fall for the new municipal building project, which was approved by City Council after considerable debate.
