Flags to be flown at half-staff in honor of local soldier

Governor Steve Beshear has directed that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff tomorrow, in honor of a Fort Campbell soldier who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

33-year old Sergeant First Class Aaron Henderson of Maine died Tuesday, October 2nd at Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan from wounds he suffered when insurgents attacked his unit on Sunday, September 30th.

He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group and was deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Governor Beshear is encouraging individuals, businesses, organizations and government agencies to join in this tribute.
