Christian County Health Department releases annual report

The Christian County Health Department has released its Annual Report, which shows last year was another busy one.

The local health department saw 20,598 separate patients between July 1st of 2011 and June 30th of this year, performing a total of nearly 175-thousand services.

Nearly 73-thousand pediatric services were performed on about 16-thousand children, while WIC services were provided to just under 8-thousand families.

The Health Department saw over 12-hundred cancer patients, assisted 125 diabetes patients, treated or tested 15-hundred patients for sexually transmitted diseases and helped about 19-hundred people with what’s termed “family planning.”

In non-medical duties, the Christian County Health Department inspected 206 separate food service establishments for a total of 867 occasions. Between all of its inspection duties, the department performed just over 28-hundred inspections of some type last year—ranging from septic tanks to tattoo parlors.
