Political debates to get underway this evening at the mall

An election season tradition is renewed tonight (Monday) when the League of Women Voters Political Forums get underway at the Bradford Square Mall.

There will be three debates this evening—beginning at 6 with the three candidates running for Hopkinsville City Council in Ward 1. They are Carolsue Daigre, Wendell Green and Thomas Grant and would replace Cornelia Belle, who chose not to run.

Incumbent Ward 5 City Councilman Charlie Henderson will debate Republican challenger Jason McCraw at 6:45.

The nightcap will pit incumbent 8^th District State Representative John Tilley against Republican challenger Max Sturdivant, Jr., with that forum scheduled to begin around 7:15.

Debates will continue tomorrow night and Thursday night, with the final three debates to take place October 22^nd at the mall.
