City police investigated a traffic incident which left a mother and daughter injured Friday night.

The crash occurred at the terminus of the Martin Luther King Bypass at a quarter to 8 when the driver of the vehicle, 34-year old Sarah Harper of Bowling Green, turned around to give the passenger, 8-year old Riley Harper of Cadiz, a cookie, and failed to observe the stop sign at the Russellville Road end of the bypass.

The vehicle continued across U.S. 68-East and went into a field.

Officer Tommy Hoffman says both occupants were wearing seat belts and were taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center.
