Harvest Fest greeted with fall-like weather

It was a little cool, but the weather cooperated much more than was it was forecast earlier in the week for Elkton Harvest Fest Saturday.

A large crowd had already gathered on the square by mid-morning despite temperatures in the 50’s. Booths lined the sidewalks and singers entertained the crowd on the main stage.

Elkton Police Chief Bruce Marklin said it looked like this year’s festival was going to be bigger than the 2011 edition.

Chief Marklin said everyone was a little worried about earlier predictions of rain, but everything turned out fine.

Harvest Fest is among the largest events put on by the Todd County Community Alliance each year.
