Marathon runner and Army vet making stop in Christian Co.

An Army Veteran is on a personal mission and is embarking on a long journey to honor those who have served and died in Afghanistan and is expected to make a stop in Christian County on Monday.

As Mike Ehredt of Hope, Idaho finishes day number 47 of his 79-day journey, his stop in Christian County will mark the 1,217th mile since he began his personal quest.

Flags bearing the name, rank, age and hometown of a fallen U.S. service members has been placed at each mile of his run.

Ehredt's route will take him through Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas.

Ehredt is expected to stay overnight in Christian County and local dignitaries are encouraging residents to attend a 2 p.m. welcome reception for the Army Veteran on Monday at the dining room at Novadell Golf Course.
