| Murray Police officer hospitalized after looking for woman in burning home |

A Murray Police Officer and the resident of an apartment were taken to the hospital after a fire Tuesday morning. The blaze happened just before 3:30, according to Murray Police, who say Officers responded to a call of a fire with a resident calling for help at 1401 North 16th Street. When Officers Charles Holland, Jay Herndon and Josh Burkeen arrived, they entered the residence and located 63-year old Emma Pritchett through dense smoke. Fire-fighters arrived just as they found her and took her outside. Ms. Pritchett was taken to Murray Calloway-County Hospital before being transferred to Vanderbilt University Medical Cetner.
