An Indiana man was injured in a single-vehicle wreck involving a tractor-trailer in Hopkins County this morning.
Kentucky State Police says 54-year old Jeffrey Gardner of Evansville was southbound about a mile south of Madisonville around 2:30am in his big rig when a deer ran out in front of him.
Gardner said he swerved to miss the deer and lost control of the vehicle. The semi struck a sign and overturned on its side. The trailer loaded with roofing materials partially blocked and closed the southbound lanes for about an hour and reduced traffic to one lane for several hours.
Gardner, who was wearing his seat belt, was taken by ambulance to Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
