There will be extra police on the streets in Hopkinsville this weekend looking to arrest anyone driving impaired.
A news release from Hopkinsville Police says they will be conducting DUI checkpoints Saturday and Sunday in the city, bringing officers from other shifts to beef up the force.
Public Information Officer Paul ray says they arrested no impaired drivers last time they did checkpoints, and that is what they hope for this time.
Officer Ray says the public is being forewarned about these checkpoints because having safe roads is their goal—not making arrests.
Police in Clarksville are also doing “saturation patrols” this weekend and both departments say there will be zero tolerance for anyone driving impaired.
