A plane en route to Hopkins County from McLean County last night crashed, killing the pilot.
WFIE TV in Evansville reports Danny Woosley had left a private airstrip for Hopkins County to get fuel. Sometime around 9pm, the McLean County Sheriff’s Office received a call that a plane had not been heard from since departure.
A search party was assembled and emergency management officials found the wreckage less than a mile from the runway near Calhoun.
The TV stations reports Woosley was the assistant fire chief for the McLean County Central District Fire Department.
