A routine traffic stop in Hopkins County early this morning led to methamphetamine charges.
A news release from Kentucky State Police says 42-year old Timothy Britton of Madisonville was stopped on Island Ford Road in Jewell City around 1:30 and Trooper Jon McGehee quickly determined he was driving on a suspended license.
Britton was arrested and a search of the vehicle allegedly revealed items commonly used to make methamphetamine. Britton was charged with possession of anhydrous ammonia with the intent to make methamphetamine, possession of meth ingrendients, manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without a license.
He was lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
