An Elkton man was arrested yesterday after allegedly chasing a neighbor down the street with a knife, threatening to kill him.
The incident happened around 12:20 at 601 South Streets Avenue, according to the report, which says 27-year old Brandon Carrol heard a banging on his apartment wall next door and went outside to see what it was.
Once outside, Carrol encountered his neighbor—33-year old John Dukes—allegedly wielding a ten inch knife in a stabbing motion yelling that he was going to kill him.
Carrol ran north on Streets Avenue to get away and eventually flagged down a motorist who called 911. Dukes reportedly stopped chasing Carrol once the car was stopped and Carrol stayed in the Todd County Interfaith Center until police arrived.
When Elkton Police Sgt. Rodney Moberly went to talk to Dukes, he allegedly ran, but was caught about 50 yards behind the apartments. Sgt. Moberly received consent from Dukes to search his residence and found the knife in the kitchen.
Dukes was arrested and charged with 1st degree wanton endangerment and lodged in the Todd County Jail.
