Some details are lacking, but one person is dead after a Muhlenberg County law enforcement official had to shoot him when he allegedly pulled a gun on officers.
The incident happened in the 300 block of Warford Street near Drakesboro just before 9pm Monday evening, where Sheriff Curtis McGehee and two deputies were responding to a call. Once there, a male suspect allegedly pointed some type of firearm at police. At least one of the officers fired a shot at the suspect out of self defense, with the suspect dying from his wounds shortly thereafter.
Kentucky State Police was called to the scene to investigate and will be releasing further details once they are all clear. The Sheriff and his deputies were physically fine after the incident.
