| City man wakes up to find suspect trying to kick in his front door |
|
McCraw A Hopkinsville resident woke up to what many people would consider their worst nightmare this morning—someone attempting to kick his front door down to get inside. Hopkinsville Police Officer Patricia Alexander responded to 1519 W. 7th St. around 3am, where the resident had awaked to hear someone attempting to get in his house. The resident went outside and saw a white male wearing a blue sweatshirt and jeans on his porch. The suspect then ran from the scene, though an inspection of the area would determine that the resident’s outdoor grill had been stolen. About 30 minutes later, police found the suspect—60-year old Anthony Ray McCraw of Hopkinsville—walking along W. 7th Street. The victim was able to positively identify McCraw as the man who was trying to kick in his door and the grill was allegedly found inside McCraw’s residence. McCraw, who lists his occupation as disabled, was arrested and charged with attempted burglary and receiving stolen property. * |
