Kentucky State Police are investigating a shooting incident in the county from last night.

A KSP dispatcher could not give many details, but said troopers remained on the scene of the incident—which is somewhere on Gospel of Peace Road. Hopkinsville Police Officer Roger Stephens said city police responded to Jennie Stuart Medical Center late in the evening after a man drove himself there with a gunshot wound to the neck.

Police believe the shot was fired by the man’s son and the victim is now at a Nashville hospital, believed to be in critical condition.

The dispatcher said he expects more information on the incident to be released later this morning.
