A mother has reportedly been indicted for murder in the brutal death of her son.
24-year old Caitlyn Leanore Metz of Williams Highway, Oregon was extradited back to Montgomery County, Tennessee yesterday for the 2009 death of her son.
According to Clarksville Police, Metz was picked up in Josephine, Oregon on Saturday, February 11th and is being held in the Montgomery County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
Metz was indicted on two counts of 1st degree felony murder, two counts of aggravated child abuse and aggravated rape of a child.
Metz’s ex-husband, 23-year old Joshua Ryan Starner, remains lodged in the Montgomery County Jail on a $1.4 million bond and was originally charged with aggravated child abuse, aggravated rape of a child and felony murder, but was re-indicted this month for two counts of aggravated child abuse and felony murder.
At the time of his arrest, Starner was listed as a Specialist and was stationed at Fort Campbell.
According to Starner’s arrest warrant, Caitlyn Metz left the 23-month old boy, named Keegan Andrew Metz, at home for a couple of hours with Starner and when she returned, her son was found unresponsive, and was taken to Vanderbilt University Children’s Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Medical staffers reported the child had severe trauma to his forehead, serious tears in his rectum and bruises all over his body.
It’s unclear at this time, what role Caitlyn Metz played in her son’s death and why she was arrested 3 years after her son’s murder.
