Hopkinsville Police remind local motorists to drive safe

The Hopkinsville Police Department wants to remind area motorists to slow down and drive carefully during inclement weather.
According to Public Information Officer Paul Ray, most rear-end collisions occur during bad weather.

In addition, Officer Ray says it’s okay to drive below the speed limit when road conditions are treacherous and explains officers can pull motorists over for going the speed limit during inclement weather when road conditions become hazardous.

As previously reported by the police department, officers responded to 108 wrecks last month with 11 of those being wrecks with injuries.
