Clarksville man accused of abusing 2-year old

A Clarksville man was arrested and charged with child abuse last night.

Taken into custody around midnight was 19-year old Keith Dewayne Hunter of Winters Court, Clarksville. Police began investigating the incident when a 24-year old woman Hunter was living with took her two year old child to the hospital for a possible allergic reaction.

During the visit, other injuries such as bruising all over the body and burns were found on the child, leading to police and child services being called. An investigation determined the injuries happened while the mother was away and when the child was in the custody of Hunter, who had been living in the home since December.

Police say the injuries to the child were found to be consistent with a slap or other disciplinary measures. Hunter is in the Montgomery county jail on $50,000 bond.
