A Hopkinsville woman shot at an intruder in her home early this morning who she feared would harm her children.
The incident happened around 2:15 this morning at 305 South McPherson, according to the report, which says 21-year old Lisa Smith heard someone in her house while she was in bed and saw a black male walking into her bedroom.
The intruder fled from the room when Ms. Smith pulled a gun out, and she said she fired a shot at him fearing he would hurt her children in the home. The suspect then fled the scene and would later be found by police.
Ms. Smith was able to positively identify a 16-year old male as the perpetrator and he was arrested a short time after the incident.
