Yesterday was supposed to be the filing deadline for candidates for the General Assembly, but that was pushed back another week.
Franklin Circuit Judge Phillip Shepherd has issued a restraining order in House Republicans’ lawsuit over new legislative districts the Governor signed into law last month.
He expects to decide on the constitutionality of the new boundaries by Tuesday of next week. Candidates for the state Senate House now have until February 7th at 4:30pm eastern time to file, says Kentucky Secretary of State Allison Grimes.
The filing deadline for every other office except in the General Assembly and Congress came and went yesterday afternoon.
