Meth arrest made in Hopkins Co.

A Kentucky State Police roadblock in Hopkins County last night resulted in the arrest of a Madisonville woman on DUI and methamphetamine charges.

The safety checkpoint was about four miles south of Madisonville on U.S. 41, according to a news release, which says 49-year old Cheryl Scott of Madisonville approached the troopers around 9:17.

State Police determined Ms. Scott was impaired and a search of her pickup turned up prescription pills not in the original container and ingredients commonly used to make methamphetamine.

Scott was arrested and charged with DUI, possession of a controlled substance, possession of prescription pills not in the proper container and possession of anhydrous ammonia with the intent to manufacture methamphetamine.
