Snow blanketed trees in the Southern Pennyrile during a snowstorm last year The first real taste of winter weather is forecast for tomorrow, with up to two inches of snow forecast for western Kentucky. The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a Winter Weather Advisory beginning at 6am Thursday and running through midnight for all of western Kentucky. Snow is expected to push into far western Kentucky around daybreak and make its way eastward through the day. Forecasts for this event have varied over the last several days, so a lot could change by the time the event is through. Forecasters also say north winds of 15 to 25 miles per hour and higher gusts will cause some visibility problems during the snow showers. It will the first time this winter area residents will be driving on snow covered roadways if the forecast holds true and Hopkinsville Police Public Information Officer Paul Ray reminds motorists to take it “low and slow” and to look out for other drivers.
