Two vehicle wreck sends Belton woman to hospital

Kentucky State Police responded to a two-vehicle wreck with injuries that occurred this morning on Kentucky 70, about 4 miles west of Browder.

State Police report 46-year old Carol Wells of Belton, KY, stopped at the stop sign on KY 22-70 East at the intersection of KY 70 East and then pulled out in front of the vehicle driven by 29-year old Christopher Pitts of Belton, KY.

Ms. Wells stated that another vehicle was stopped on KY 70 in the westbound lanes waiting to turn onto KY 2270 and motioned for her to turn.
As a result of the wreck, the vehicle driven by Wells came to rest in the middle of the intersection, while the vehicle driven by Pitts traveled off the right shoulder of the roadway facing east.

Wells was reportedly transported by ambulance to the Owensboro Medical Center for treatment and no other injuries were reported.

The Beechmont Volunteer Fire Department and Muhlenberg County EMS also assisted at the scene.
