As promised, Clarksville Police were out in full force over the New Years weekend and the first person arrested for DUI of the year may not meet your preconceived notions. A news release from Clarksville Police identifies the first man to be arrested for DUI this year as 77-year old Roy Young, who reportedly told police that he had only drank one beer, but had been smoking marijuana the last couple days when pulled over around 12:30am Sunday. Young was also allegedly driving on a suspended license. The first DUI wreck of the year in Clarksville happened around 2:45am Sunday, with 24-year old Matthew Ballard of Clarksville cited for DUI at Gateway Medical center after an incident on Tiny Town Road. ** 01/02/20011/am |
