Today marked a bittersweet chapter for the Clarksville Police Department as several veteran officers have officially turned in their badges.
According to police, Detective Danny Fewless, Officer Joseph Papastathis, and Chaplain Robert Mitchell officially retired and were honored for their years of service in keeping the streets safe during a ceremony this morning.
Public Information Officer Jim Knoll says the three officers were a fine example of the department’s force.
Meanwhile, Knoll says the officers will be sorely missed at the department and wished them well in their future endeavors.
The retirement ceremony was held at police headquarters located at 135 Commerce Street.
