| Todd Co. Fiscal Court asks for state to have mercy on Health Dept. |
|
Todd Fiscal Court unanimously passed a resolution at this morning’s meeting asking the General Assembly to find a way to allow local health departments keep much needed funds. If nothing changes, the Todd County Health Department will have to give nearly $124,000 in Medicaid money back to the state, up from about $86,000 this year. Todd County Judge-Executive Darryl Greenfield says that’s hard for a department already struggling for cash. Magistrate Brent Spurlin serves on the Todd Health Board and pointed out that no other entity he knows of has to give those funds back and also believes the increase will severely hurt the health department. In other business, court approved first reading of budgets for Todd County Sheriff Joey Johnson and County Clerk Kim Chapman. Treasurer Tammy Robertson gave a good financial report, with most departments still below budget about halfway through the fiscal year. ** |
