A stolen vehicle was set on fire at the end of a Banton Road driveway yesterday morning.

Christian County Sheriff’s Deputy Lynn Moe was called to the 2000 block of Banton Road just before 7am to the report of a loud explosion and smoke. When police arrived, they found a 1984 International pickup truck with a hitched up trailer on fire.

A check with the ECC revealed the truck belonged to David Wright of Old Edwards Mill Road, who said he had last seen it around 4pm Christmas Day.

The truck was a total loss, but the flames didn’t make it to the trailer. No suspects are listed on the report, though deputies are working on some leads.
